MANGALURU: The rising demand for Udupi saris has inspired women to experiment with them. Udupi sarees, hand-woven by artisans of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi has embraced the Aari embroidery of Kashmir. About three years ago, the Udupi sari revival campaign was launched by Kadike Trust in association with Talipady Weavers Society (TWS). Loretta Pinto, co-founder, Susheg Charitable Trust, got embroiderers of Kashmir, Manzoor Ahmad and Yasmeena and created a unique designer masterpiece.
